How it works

Fine bent pins reach past the top coat and pull out the loose undercoat that is already shedding. Five minutes, two or three times a week, and there is noticeably less of it around the house.

The self-cleaning part

Press the button on the back and the pins retract, so the whole pad of fur lifts off in one piece. No picking clumps out of the bristles with your fingers, no tapping it on the bin.

Use it gently

Light passes, in the direction the coat grows. The pins are fine, and pressing hard can scratch the skin underneath — you are combing out loose fur, not scrubbing. Most dogs settle into it and treat it as a massage.

What it will not do

It will not undo a proper mat. If the coat is matted to the skin, that needs a groomer and scissors, not more brushing. It also does very little on a short, smooth single coat — this is for dogs that shed.

Care

Retract the pins, pull the fur off, rinse the head under the tap and let it dry.
